Clear your mind, one step at a time — outdoor therapy in North Vancouver for people who think better in motion.

"A walk in nature walks the soul back home"

-Mary Davis

What you'll gain from counselling...

Better emotional regulation.

Learn to identify and process your emotions - and feel more in control of your day-to-day moods.

Clearer thinking.

Sort through the endless chatter in your mind - and hone down onto what's important to you and your life.

Clarity on values and goals.

Get to know yourself - who you are, and what you want. With knowledge comes power and direction.

More self-compassion.

Practice recognizing that you're human, and knowing that making mistakes doesn't mean you're not worthy.

Common challenges I help with

Self-esteem

I believe every single human being is extraordinarily cool and interesting. If you don't believe that yet - instead you're speaking negatively about yourself, or believing you're deficient in some way - let's unpack it together and help you feel confident and awesome.

Anxiety

Whether anxiety shows up in your relationships, in regards to your health, or seems to bounce around between topics every hour, there is so much we can do to support it. Let's get you feeling less worried and more present in your life.

Depression

Depression isn't "just" sadness - it can be all-consuming. If you're finding yourself with consistently low energy, feeling frustrated or hopeless, and struggling to enjoy the things you used to... let's explore the root causes so you can get back to accessing joy.

Chronic pain + illness

Feeling like your body is betraying you is a uniquely challenging experience. It can feel isolating, limiting, and unfair. Let's create space for all those emotions - and talk about how we can support our bodies by supporting our mental health.

Body image

From tabloids to TikTok, we can't go two minutes these days without hearing how our bodies "should" look. Let's talk about the messages that are getting to you, and see if we can reframe them and rebuild your relationship with your body.

Life transitions

Whether it's starting university or retiring, having your first baby or watching your last child leave home, getting a pet or losing one - change is a constant we can rely on. But that doesn't mean it's easy. Let's plan and help you navigate it intentionally.

About Kelli

I work with people who feel more at home outdoors than in an office chair.  If you think best while in motion, feel calmer in nature, or simply want therapy to feel less intimidating, walk-and-talk sessions can offer the alternative you need.

My approach to counselling is rooted in mindfulness. I help you notice what's happening in your thoughts, tune back into your body, and reconnect to your environment. When we can access what’s happening beneath the surface, we have information - about what we may need to face or process so we can move toward a life that feels aligned and purposeful.

My path to becoming a counsellor grew out of my own mental health journey. I found just as much healing on the trails as I did in therapy, so when it came time to build my own practice, I thought - why not do both?! As a born-and-raised North Vancouverite, the trails are my home, and I know I'm not alone in finding nature incredibly healing.

I hold a Master's in Counselling Psychology from UBC, and studied how humans communicate during my undergraduate degree at NYU. I believe every human being has infinite capacity for growth and healing, and it's an honour to walk alongside my clients as they discover what that could look like for them.

Frequently asked questions

What if I’ve never been to therapy before?

That’s completely okay. Many people start without knowing what to expect. My job is to guide you through the process, help you feel comfortable, and move at a pace that feels right for you.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. I offer secure, confidential online sessions as well as walk-and-talk therapy. Whether you'd like to meet virtually because of a busy schedule or inclement weather, it's always your choice.

Do you work with teenagers?

Yes! I see teens age 13+ in my practice. Prior to becoming a counsellor, I spent a decade working in high schools and universities - and working with teens and young adults is one of my greatest joys. I also offer counselling to this population in my part-time role at Fraser Health Authority. If your teenager is struggling with their mental health, and you think they might benefit from a walk-and-talk approach, I'd love meet your family.

Is everything we talk about confidential?

Yes. Everything you share with me in therapy is kept private and confidential. The only exceptions are rare situations required by law — such as if there’s a risk of harm to yourself or others. I’ll always explain these limits clearly so you understand exactly how your information is protected. Of course, when we're on a trail, there may be other people around. We can talk about how you'd like to approach this unique therapeutic environment to make sure you feel comfortable opening up.

How long will therapy take?

It depends on what you’re working through and what you hope to get out of therapy. Some people come for a few months to work on a specific issue, while others stay longer for deeper, ongoing work. We’ll check in regularly to make sure therapy is helping you move toward your goals.

Are sessions covered by my insurance?

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Canadian Certified Counsellor, which means my services are covered by many extended health plans. Please review the details of your plan to confirm that services rendered by an RCC or CCC are covered under your benefits.
